Leland Hill

Leland Aaron Hill passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz on July 2, 2021 at the age of 43.
Leland (know to family as Aaron) was born on April 28, 1978 in Watsonville, Ca. to Leland Dale Hill and Terri L. Jennings. He attended Aptos High School and Cabrillo College where he excelled in athletics and academics, always striving to learn. He enjoyed music and loved singing.
Aaron grew up in between the Watsonville and Santa Cruz areas and was well know throughout both communities. He was an avid racing fan who frequently attended races at Ocean Speedway for many years. He participated in American stock car races all over California with his Camaros, placing first on many occasions. He had a deep love of all things cars and racing, investing decades of his life to learning all he could about his passion. Attending races on Friday nights were one of the great joys we all shared as a family and will always cherish.
Aaron, better know to his friends as Leland later in life, spent his time establishing loving relationships with individuals in the downtown Santa Cruz community. He dedicated his time to bettering the lives of the people around him, and was known by so many to have a huge heart and a very giving nature. He was always encouraging others to “give what they can to someone in need.” His family hopes that his memory will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Aaron is the father of Rian Hill, Riley Lacki, Miles Lacki, and Anthony Felix. He is survived by sisters Shannon Hill, Staci Marini, and Jessica Jennings, brother Matthew Jennings and is loved by family Robert Marini, Rick Jennings, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Aaron is preceded in death by his Aunt Jeanine Oliver and Grandparents Lorraine & Ralph Oliver of Watsonville, Ca.
His family will be holding a memorial gathering in his honor Sunday, August 8th 2021 at 1pm and would love for anyone who knew him to join in and celebrate his life. Please send RSVP to Aaronhillmemorial@gmail.com for more information about location.
