On Friday, May 10, 2019 Agustina Saavedra Velazquez peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. She was 86.
Agustina loved going to Saint Patricks Church, she volunteered during mass. She also enjoyed going to the Watsonville Senior Center and participated in the annual parades. One of Agustina’s greatest strengths was her ability to make people laugh and defuse any situation with her witty jokes. Agustina was also known to be a fashionista. She loved going shopping and loved clothes. Agustina was a very strong human being and remained positive up until her last moments.
She is survived by her children; Angelica Castro, Lupe Morin, Rosalinda Thomas, Martin Saavedra, Prisciliano Saavedra, Hector Saavedra, Anna Vega and Arcelia Hofdahl. Agustina is also survived by her siblings; Consuelo, Miguel, Adolfo, Socorro, Anita, Javier, Alfredo, Rogelio, Fidencio, Delia, Elidia Velazquez and 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Agustina was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Guadalupe Saavedra and her parents; Barbarito Velazquez and María Rebeca Garcia, her son; Juan Manuel Saavedra and her brother Eliseo Velazquez.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 9AM-12PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be held that day at 1PM at Saint Patricks Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
