Ana Guzman

July 24, 1934 — July 6, 2015

On Monday, July 6, 2015, Ana Maria Guzman peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. She was 80.
Ana Maria was born in San Juan Cosala Jalisco, Mexico. She lived there until 1974, when she immigrated to the United States. Ana Maria worked for Richard A. Shaw, Green Giant, JJ Crossetti and Watsonville Cannery for many joyful years. She also worked for local strawberry and raspberry growers. She always worked very hard to provide for her family.
She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and looked forward to Loteria Night on Fridays. But most of all she had a great love for her family and was a very devoted Catholic. She instilled good vales to her children; to be kind, honest, respectful, and humble and always help the less fortunate. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Ana Maria had many hobbies such as collecting ceramic frogs and Rosary beads.
She has peacefully gone to be with her heavenly Father as well as reuniting with her beloved husband; Ismael Guzman Yerna and parents; Maria Del Refugio Davila and Pedro Higuera. Ana Maria was also preceded in death by her daughter Beatriz Guman and siblings; Maria, Hermelinda Heredia and Mauricio Higuera .
Ana Maria is lovingly survived by her children; Ernestina (Alfonso) Contreras, Livier (Miguel) Barba, Sergio (Sara), Esther (Joel) Bernal, Rosaura (Santiago) Villalobos, Ana Isabel (Jose) Bocanergra, Alicia (Ventura) Leon, Beatriz (Jose) Morales, Maria Soledad (Christopher) Gil, Martha (Charles) Fury, Ruth (Miguel) Leon, Carlos (Martha), Francisco (Laura), Ismael (Erika), George (Georgianna) and Nancy Guzman. She is also survived by brother; Luis Higuera, and her 49 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
