Arleen Helen George Bladl

d. December 5, 2022

Eugene, Oregon

Arleen Helen George Bladl passed away on December 5, 2022, at her home in Eugene, Oregon. She was 80 years old.

Arleen was born in San Jose, California. She was the oldest of four children born to Tony George, Sr. and Marian Helen George.

Arleen spent her childhood in Campbell, California, loving to swim in the home pool with family and friends. After graduating in 1959 from Camden High School, San Jose, CA, she attended a year at the local junior college. Arleen’s bookkeeping skills landed her a job with George & Phillips Trucking in Watsonville, CA. Arleen spent later years using her bookkeeping talents with other area shipping services. Her love of being with people led her to bartending at the Villager, Watsonville, CA and other area hot spots.

Arleen married Harry Bladl in 1963 and later divorced. They had no children.

Arleen retired in 2002 and moved to Eugene, Oregon to take care of her beloved parents until 2020. Arleen kept in touch with her special Camden High School friends all these years. She made even more friends at her Lakewood Park home in Eugene.

Arleen was a larger-than-life woman, with a heart even bigger. She enjoyed people. She loved people. Her loving nature extended to taking care of people other than her own family. Over four decades were spent taking care of the elderly and the dying. Her heart had no boundaries.

Arleen is survived by her siblings --- Tony George Jr.; Marilyn Wong; and Leonard George; and her nieces and nephews. She will be inurned with her mother and father at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, Eugene, Oregon.

A virtual ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held in 2023.

If you wish, donations may be made in her name to the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County, Greatest Needs Fund, 7807 Soquel Drive Aptos, CA 95003
