Bessie Lillian Gaither

Bessie Lillian Gaither passed away peacefully at home in Royal Oaks, California on April 6, 2026, entering her heavenly home at the age of 93.

She was born in Mendocino, California in July 1932, to her parents Andrew and Marie Grass. Bessie married Floyd Gaither in June of 1950. They moved to Royal Oaks and made it their home for the rest of their lives.

Bessie enjoyed many hobbies like sewing and crafting. She was an avid league bowler for many years and loved to shop at estate sales. Bessie was especially passionate about gardening and was always adding to her extensive flower garden. But above all, her time spent with family was the most precious to her.

Bessie is preceded in death by her late husband Floyd Gaither, 3 of her sisters, and 2 of her brothers. She is survived by her children Debi Reeves (Dale) and Janet Rackley (Ron), 4 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other extended family and friends.

A Family Memorial service will be held by at a later date. Donations can be made in Bessie’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of the Central Coast.
