Carmen Hernández de Ruiz falleció pacíficamente en su casa en Royal Oaks, California, el 1 de febrero de 2026.
Nació en Gómez Farías, Michoacán, México, el 16 de noviembre de 1942, hija de Jesús Hernández Sánchez y María de Jesús Prado González.
Se mudó a Watsonville, California, en 1972, donde trabajó en los campos de fresas y, junto con su esposo Miguel Ruiz Rocha, crió a su familia. A Carmen le encantaba la música ranchera, cuidar sus árboles frutales y pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos.
Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Miguel, y su hijo, Roberto. A Carmen le sobreviven sus hijos: Soledad, Jorge, Miguel, Carlos, Griselda, David, Antonio y Jesús, y sus queridos nietos.
El velorio de Carmen Hernández de Ruiz se llevará a cabo el domingo 15 de febrero de 2026, de 5:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m., con un rosario a las 7:00 p. m. La misa fúnebre se celebrará el lunes 16 de febrero de 2026 en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora Auxiliadora, ubicada en 2401 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076, a las 10:00 a. m.
Carmen Hernandez de Ruiz passed peacefully at home in Royal Oaks, Ca on February 1st, 2026.
She was born in Gomez Farias, Michoacan, Mexico on November 16, 1942, to her Jesus Hernandez Sanchez and Maria de Jesus Prado Gonzalez.
She moved to Watsonville, Ca in 1972, where she worked in the strawberry fields and together with her husband Miguel Ruiz Rocha raised their family. Carmen loved ranchera music, tending to her fruit trees and above all spending time with her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Miguel, and son, Roberto. Carmen is survived by her children: Soledad, Jorge, Miguel, Carlos, Griselda, David, Antonio, and Jesus, and her beloved grandchildren.
A viewing is set for Carmen Hernandez de Ruiz the night of Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 5PM-9PM with a Rosary held at 7PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at Our Lady Help of Christian’s Church located at 2401 E Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076 at 10AM.
