Dante, 71, was born and raised in Watsonville.

He passed away peacefully at home in Watsonville with his loving partner, Sarah Rather, by his side.

He’s predeceased by his parents Kenny and Eunice Sears and Richard Stewart.

He leaves his sister, Debi Barry and brother-in-law Bob Barry, stepsons, Jesse and Cassidy Robyn, Sarah’s son, Christian Lyskoski and daughter, Lorna Joiner, nieces Kelley Cavanaugh, Samantha Jilka and Bridget Barry, cousin John Schiavon, who helped and supported him during his illness, and Ron Beck, his best friend and fishing buddy of 30 years. He had a tribe of grandkids who adored him as he them.

Dante loved fishing and boating in the Monterey Bay and Oregon which he excelled at. He loved sharing his fishing skills. He was a dive instructor  and guide in Baja. He had many adventures in his life and travels to Mexico, Hawaii, Japan and Canada.

He worked in the recovery field in Santa Cruz County for 25 years and with the homeless population and was dedicated to helping people as a mentor and advocate. He was greatly interested in his lifelong spiritual journey. He was quick witted and had a unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed by us all.
