David "Dave" Mangan, went to be with his Lord on July 11, 2024, at the age of 70.
A life-long Watsonville resident, Dave was born on July 11, 1954, to Nels and Elsie Mangan.
Graduating from Watsonville High School and then Cal State Hayward, he continued his life-long career in the grocery business until retirement from Lunardi's in Los Gatos. While working at Freedom Food Center, he met his sweetheart, Helen Gong, and were soon married. They had two children Susan and Scott who are his greatest legacy. Dave's faith in God was apparent through his character. He was faithful, loyal, consistent, willing and available to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was selfless and loving. Dave was a man after God's heart and it showed in his integrity. An avid baseball player and fisherman, BBQer and traveler, he enjoyed making memories with his loved ones. Remembered fondly by all who knew him, he will be greatly missed.
Dave is survived by his wife Helen of 48 years; children Susan Mangan and Scott Mangan; his two brothers Ken and Dale Mangan; an uncle, Daryl Mangan; an aunt, Pat Strader; and many cousins plus extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on September 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Green Valley Christian Center located at 376 S. Green Valley Road in Watsonville. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Dave to the Green Valley Christian School ministry.
