Don Yana Lazo, a lifelong resident of Watsonville, California, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 80.He was born on May 15, 1945, and spent his life dedicated to his family, community, and country. Don proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968. After his military service, he built a life rooted in hard work and determination. In 1991, he became the owner of Don Lazo Plumbing, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to serving the local community.Don was also a co-founder of Streetside Hope, reflecting his caring nature and desire to help others. He will be remembered for his generosity, resilience, and the pride he took in supporting those around him.He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Lazo; his children, Michelle Lazo and Christopher Lazo; his sister, Marcella Mateo; and four cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer West; his brother, George Lazo Jr.; and his parents, George and Martha Lazo.A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville.
