Doris Williamson, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 18, 2026, after a brave fight with cancer. Born in Komotau, Czechoslovakia, Doris endured WWII, fleeing to Germany at age two. Following her parents’ divorce, she was raised in a Bamberg orphanage, sustained by family love despite challenges. In her hometown of Bamberg, Germany, she met and married Franklin “Al” Williamson, a U.S. Army soldier. They were married on June 5, 1964. They moved to Watsonville where they built a life together. Doris became a proud U.S. citizen in 1969 and worked over 20 years as a checker at Safeway. Doris and Al traveled across the U.S. and Europe, with frequent visits to family in Germany.

She is survived by daughter Sherry Peverini and son-in-law Louie; granddaughter Katrina Monterroso, husband Estuardo, and great-grandson Kayce; sister Gerlinde Hoffmann; brothers Gunter (Irmgard) and Rainer Hahn (Michaela); many nieces, nephews, and extended family; constant companion Warren Anderson; lifelong friend Barbara Shaffer (Bill) and many other cherished friends. After Al’s passing, Doris volunteered at the Elks Lodge where she met her companion, Warren Anderson. She enjoyed his cooking and they loved traveling, including a road trip to the Kentucky Derby. She will be remembered for her generous heart, love of white wine and jewelry, entertaining talent, and spirited German resilience.

She is preceded in death by husband Al, parents Franz Hahn and Freida Seitz, and dear loved ones. Her legacy lives on in the love and stories she leaves behind

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:00 am, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 2401 E. Lake Avenue, in Watsonville. Ave Maria Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
