Eva Luz Valdez Ochoa

On April 19, 2023, an extraordinary woman left our side to go home to our Lord. Eva Luz Valdez Ochoa “la jefita” left us after using every bit of her strength to beat a cancerous tumor found in her head. Her cancer was so advanced and slowly took every bit of her strength until she finally said goodbye. She was only 71. La jefita, was born on March 28, 1951, to her parents Ignacio Valdez and Josefina Ochoa in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. She was a great woman who fought and provided for her children. She was strong and never let anything bring her down. Even after losing her son and granddaughter she continued to push forward with her other son by her side.

She was a fan of the San Francisco Forty Niners and defended them at all costs. You could never talk bad about her team, or you would hear it. She had a love for flowers and plants. Her favorites were sunflowers. La jefita, loved cooking, shopping, and the casinos. Everyone that met her always said she was a kind and happy person. She put everyone’s needs before her own. To her it did not matter whether you were family or not, if you needed anything she was there for you and always found a solution. La Jefita, will be missed by her family and so many friends. She leaves behind all her love and wonderful memories. May she rest in peace.
