Evangelina Burgos de Marrujo

Evangelina Burgos de Marrujo passed away in Salinas on December 10, 2025.

She was born in El Ranchito de los Burgos in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico on December 3, 1952, to her parents Carlos and Leonor Burgos.

She moved to Los Angeles, Ca where she worked as a seamstress for a time before getting married to her husband Emilio Marrujo and moving to Watsonville to start a family. There she worked in the canneries and later transitioned into the childcare business.

She is survived by her husband Emilio, her siblings Arnoldo, Aureliano, Luis, Bartolo, Carlos, and Lupita Burgos. She also leaves behind her six children Noel, Araceli, Janet, Yesenia, Melissa, and Judy Marrujo and 14 grandchildren.

A viewing will be held for Evangelina on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel starting at 5PM with a rosary at 6PM. A Mass will be held for her the following morning of Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Our Lady Help of Christians at 10AM.
