Floyd Gaither

April 7, 1922 — May 14, 2016

On Saturday, May 14, 2016 Floyd Earl Gaither peacefully passed away surrounded by his family. He was 94.
Floyd was a man of many wonderful characteristics. He served under General Patton in WWII receiving two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. Floyd retired from Granite Construction as a foreman after 30 joyful years of service. Some of his projects included the Santa Cruz Harbor and Jetty, 101 Bypass in San Jose, San Jose Light Rail System, Central Valley Aqueduct and numerous projects throughout California. Ultimately, Floyd's family was his top priority. He was a provider to the very end, always putting others first.
Floyd is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Bessie Gaither and his daughters; Debi (Dale) Reeves and Janet (Ron) Rackley. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings; Herman, Billy and Mabel, his 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 101 Madison St.
Watsonville at 11am on Saturday May 21, 2016, reception to follow.
