Francisca Serrano

On Friday, January 19, 2024 Francisca Serrano peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. She was 89.

Francisca was a woman of many wonderful traits. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, singing, and traveling. Her last trip to Hawaii was one of her favorites. Francisca worked as a cannery floor lady for 37 joyful years where she made lifelong friendships. She became a naturalized citizen in December of 1995. She always maintained a home for everybody and raised 5 children as a single mother. She will be forever missed. Francisca was a resident of Watsonville. 

Francisca is survived by her children; Margie Ackermann, Esther Lobato, Patty Lopez, Rene Lobato and Lawrence Navarro. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings; Luis A, Gabriel, Luis D, Cruz, Lidia, Socorro, and parents; Francisco and Margarita De Serrano.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 5-9 PM with a Rosary at 7PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Valley Catholic Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
