Francisco “Pancho” Sanchez (September 2, 1934–August 31, 2026) passed away at age 91. Born in Zacatecas and raised in Jalisco, Mexico, Pancho came to America at age 12 in pursuit of an adventure, eventually making Watsonville his home. His plans to return to Mexico changed when he met the love of his life, the beautiful Carol Martinez.
To know Pancho was to know kindness. His infectious smile brightened every room, and he welcomed everyone with open arms. A true warrior and the hardest-working man his family knew, he faced life with courage and determination, sacrificing his own wants to give his family a better life. A man of deep faith, Pancho found comfort in his Bible. He loved blackjack and poker, family, caring for his trees, dancing with Carol, and sharing his unbelievable adventures.
Preceded in death by Carol, Pancho is survived by his children, Frank and Ana, and grandchildren, Frankie, Josh, Hunter, and Paris. They will forever cherish his stories, smile, and familiar “¡Épale!”
