Georgia Magnabosco
May 30, 1937 – May 25, 2026
Georgia Magnabosco passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, family, and cherished memories.
Georgia was born on May 30, 1937, and was the oldest of seven children. Family was at the center of her life. She often said that wherever she went, her family was with her, and she carried their stories, laughter, and love wherever she went.
Georgia dedicated 45 years to nursing at Dominican Hospital and helped open the Birth Center in Santa Cruz. Her caring spirit extended far beyond her work. She was known as a social butterfly — someone who seemed to know people everywhere she went, often stopping to share a story, a laugh, or a warm greeting.
She enjoyed bowling, bocce ball, being involved with the Eagles, the Marconi Club, and CB radio clubs, shopping, going to the beach with her girls, and spending time with her dog, Riley. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Belize and Italy, as well as summer visits back home.
Georgia was especially loved by her grandchildren and was known to them as “Grandma Waffles.” Her grandkids would show up just to get them, and the time together often became a chance to share stories and laughter. She also spoke fondly of time in her grandmother’s garden, sharing tea and memories that stayed with her throughout her life.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Magnabosco; her parents, Leland and Hilda McCord; her sisters, Janice McCord, Beverly McCord, and Barbara McCord; her brothers, Billy McCord, Jimmy McCord, and Tommy McCord; and her son, Robert Twiligear.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kim and Don Rosa of Watsonville, Katherine Magnabosco-Miller and Fred Miller of Watsonville, James and Jody Magnabosco of Sandpoint, Idaho, and Robin Owen of Big Bear, California; along with 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Georgia was a blessing to those who knew her — kind, loving, and woven deeply into the fabric of a family filled with stories, laughter, and echoes of love. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to others, the memories she helped create, and the quiet but lasting place she held in the hearts of her family and friends.
A service honoring Georgia’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at:
