Gildardo Gomez

Gildardo Gomez, peacefully passed away on January 2 at the age of 85.

Mr. Gomez was born on February 9, 1935, in Jalisco, Mexico. He came to the U.S. through the Bracero Program, working in several areas of California before settling in Watsonville, CA in 1972.

He was self employed in the agriculture business and loved nature.  He enjoyed making his loved ones laugh with his jokes and story telling. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and known to grow an amazing vegetable garden!

Mr. Gomez is preceded in death by his parents Tomas Gomez Aceves and Andrea Morales Renteria.

He is survived by his dear wife of 60 years Marina Gomez and his four children, Tomas Gomez, Roberto Gomez, Monica Gomez, and Sergio Gomez.  He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was dedicated to his family, will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew his kind nature.

A visitation service for Mr. Gomez will be held on Thursday, January 14, from 5:00-7:00pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville.  A funeral mass will be celebrated Assumption Church in Pajaro on Friday, January 15 at 10:00AM.
