Gonzalo Hernandez Rios Jr.

Gonzalo Hernandez Rios Jr. peacefully passed away on January 25th, 2019 surrounded by his family and loved ones. He passed away on his 35th birthday after a short fight against cancer. He maintained a positive attitude and willingness to live throughout his battle. Gonzalo was a kind son, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a native of Watsonville. Born to Gonzalo and Maria Hernandez. He was a Watsonville High Graduate. On December 8th, 2011 he welcomed son, Nathan Hernandez who was the most important part of his life. He was a dedicated employee of the UPS. He enjoyed working out at Golds Gym and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He appreciated mariachi music. Gonzalo was enthusiastic about sports, his favorite teams were the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants and The Golden State Warriors. He was a devoted catholic and attended mass on Sunday’s but his preferred activity was always spending time with his son. Gonzalo is survived by his parents, Gonzalo and Maria Hernandez, siblings Rudy and Beatriz Hernandez, son Nathan Hernandez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends. He will be remembered for his charismatic personality that was sure to leave an imprint on anyone’s heart as well as his beautiful smile. Services and viewing will be held on Thursday January 31st at 5 PM at St. Patrick’s. The rosary will begin at 7 PM. Mass will be Friday February 1st at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s with burial to follow at Valley Catholic Cemetery.
