Mr. J AsunciA�n Vega Heredia passed away on Tuesday March 14, 2017 in Watsonville, CA in the presence of his family at home.

Mr. Vega was born on April 2, 1941 in PurAC.pero de EchA�iz, MichoacA�n, MAC.xico to Maria Heredia and LA�cio Vega. As a young boy and teen, he herded sheep and cattle alongside his brothers. At the age of twenty-one he married his sweetheart Serapia Vega Cendejas and they celebrated 52 years of marriage this winter.

The last twenty years of their life, they have dedicated themselves to sales with Forever Living Products and traveling in the United States: Hawaii, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Virginia, Florida and Maine. Internationally they traveled to Europe, Asia and several cities in Mexico.

In 1964, he moved to the United States and began working in southern California in the manufacturing industry: ceramics, skateboards, water tanks, yachts, swimming pools and bathtubs. In 1982, Asuncion Vega and his family moved to Watsonville, Ca. He began working as a field laborer, cannery employee, carpenter, bricoleur and salesman.

Asuncion Vega was a man of faith and an active member of La Asuncion (Assumption) Church in Pajaro. He cared for community issues, attended city council and school board meetings and upon becoming a U.S. Citizen he voted actively. He shared sayings and proverbs through storytelling to counsel his family and friends. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, book and coin collector. He used his positive attitude to persevere in life and always gave thanks to God.

Asuncion Vega is survived by his wife Serapia Vega Cendejas and is survived by his children: Sergio Vega, AdA�n Vega, M. Guadalupe McKeithen Vega, Graciela Vega and Martha Vega.

He is preceded in death by parents: Maria Heredia and LA�cio Vega and his siblings: LA�cio Vega, Victoria Vega, and Salvador Vega. He is survived by his siblings: Valente Vega, Feliciano Vega, Francisco Vega, Maria Elena Vega and Angel Vega.

He is survived by his grandchildren: Cynthia Geinsen Sanchez, Jesus Vega, Karina Vega, Sergio Vega, Nancy Vega, Shane McKeithen Vega, Abraham Vega, Krystal Vega, J. CuauhtAC.moc Carbajal-Vega and Kurihani Carbajal-Vega.

He is survived by his great-grandchildren: Matthew Geisen, Asuncion Vega, Beatrice Geisen, Julian Vega, Jedidiah King Vega and Alessandro Vega.

Viewing will begin at 5 pm. and rosary will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday March 20, 2017 at La Iglesia de la Asuncion, 100 Salinas Road, Pajaro, CA. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at La Iglesia de la AsunciA�n in PA�jaro. Burial will follow Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Rd, Watsonville, CA, 95076. A reception will be held at Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, Heritage Hall, 2601 E Lake Avenue, Watsonville, CA 95076.
