Jesus Hernandez Cortes

On Friday May 16th, 2025 Heaven opened its gates to Jesus Hernandez Cortes, who passed away at his daughter’s home in Watsonville, CA at the age of 90.

He was born on the 10th of January in 1935 in Michoacan, Mexico to Patricio Hernandez and Dominga Cortez. Jesus Hernandez was a hard-working individual, starting off as a young man in the fields where he labored proudly for much of his life to support his family. He was strong-willed and free-spirited but loving and devoted to his wife and children, who remember him as the life of the party. He loved to keep busy and especially loved to dance.

Jesus is rejoined now in eternal peace with his parents and late daughter Lilia Hernandez, and is survived by his wife Reynalda Ruiz Garcia, his 8 remaining children Olivia Hernandez, Alícia Guzman, Maria Lourdez Hernandez, Enrique Hernandez, Hilda Hernandez, Irma Hernandez, Maritza Hernandez, and Maria Hernandez. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren who will miss him dearly: Vianey Hernandez, Enrique Hernandez, Jesus Hernandez, Ismael Sandoval, Osvaldo Cortez, Victor Cortez, Miriam Cortez, Gerardo Barrera, Paola Barrera, Ivan Guzman, Isaac Guzman, Cynthia Guzman, and Edwin Guzman.
