Joseph Diaz

On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 Joseph Diaz unexpectedly  passed away in Watsonville. He was 43.

Joey was a devoted husband, father and son. He treasured his children and embraced every moment with them. On September 21, 2002 he married the love of his life, Lisa Marie Da Silva. Together they raised Kirstie, Nicole, Jojo and Danielle.

He was an avid sports fan and an exceptional athlete. He played on the Palma varsity basketball team which won a State Championship and was also named Div. 2 Pitcher of the Year while playing for San Francisco State.

Joey loved coaching our local youth. He, alongside his brother Jake and his dad Joe, coached basketball at PV High, St. Francis and a Special Olympics basketball team. His latest endeavor was coaching his sons baseball travel team—Pv Elite. He changed many lives in his short time with us. He will be missed tremendously and surely not forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10 AM at Green Valley Christian Church.
