Joseph Luis Valencia, a beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on June 9th, 2023, at 12:21 am, while in the loving embrace of his daughter and granddaughter.

Born on October 30, 1949, in Watsonville, CA, Joseph touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Joseph had an infectious laughter that filled the room and a genuine love for engaging in conversations with friends. He cherished the sounds of 60's rock and the Motown rhythm, finding solace and joy in the music he held dear to his heart. Another passion of Joseph's was his love for animals, and for the past 12 years, he found great companionship with his loyal friend, Chiquita. Throughout his life, Joseph dedicated over 30 years of hard work to Lucky’s, a testament to his strong work ethic. Additionally, he served as an Officer with the Seaside Police Department for over a decade, demonstrating his commitment to serving and protecting his community. When he retired at age 55, golf became his beloved sport, providing him with countless hours of enjoyment and friendly competition. Joseph's legacy is carried on by his loving family.

He is survived by his five sisters, Ernistine Bergo, Angela Upson, Susan Valencia, Carmen Ramirez, and Victoria Haisch. His memory will forever be cherished by his three daughters, Yvonne Valencia, Nicole Valencia, and his youngest daughter, Gina Valencia. Joseph's absence will also be deeply felt by his eight grandchildren, Anthony Rios, Andy Rios, Jonathan Cardenas, Alicia Cardenas, Joseph Nelson, Danny Balajadia, Santiago Yniquez, and Arianna Paras. He will be missed by his nine great-grandchildren as well. One of Joseph's greatest joys was sharing laughter and making jokes with his cherished grandchildren. They were a constant source of delight and inspiration in his life.

Dad, your time with us was a gift we will forever treasure. We find solace in knowing that you are now watching over us as an angel from above. May your soul find eternal peace and may your love continue to guide us. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. We love you
