June Arellano

July 22, 1937 — July 1, 2015

June Louise Arellano was carried in the arms of God to her heavenly family and to soar with the angels surrounded by her family and friends on Tuesday July 1st. June was a Watsonville, California, native and was the second child of Leroy and Lucille McGinnis. She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years Alex Arellano, her children Maria and (Tony) Villalta, Bonifacio Julio Arellano, Sara Arellano, Carolyn and (Chalio) Flores, Deborah Baker, Peggy and (Mark) Raymond and Evette Arellano. She was preceded in death by her sons Alex Arellano and David Ahl. She is survived by brother Howard McGinnis and was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Locatelli. She is also survived by sixteen grand-children, fifteen great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She attended local schools and graduated from Watsonville High School. She worked on the family farm, was a homemaker and later was the co-owner of Alex's TV and Appliances with her husband Alex for twenty-two years. After retiring from the business she had a family daycare in her home for thirteen years where she became known as "Gramma June" to many children and families in Watsonville. She enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, gardening and traveling on vacations to Canada, Switzerland, Mexico and Hawaii. June was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed driving her 1965 Mustang and her 1986 black Corvette. June liked to read novels and she was a "General Hospital" fan for more than forty five years. June was an accomplished seamstress sewing wedding dresses, prom dresses and clothing for all her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, sweaters and baby dresses. June will be most remembered for her love of family, friends and children; her own, the neighbors, daycare children and any other children who visited her home. She had a keen sense of humor, and a contagious laugh that made her bright blue eyes sparkle. She also loved animals and held a special place in her heart for her cats.

Visitation will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel from 5-7 pm and the rosary will be from
7-9 pm this coming Sunday July 12th, 2015. Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church at
10:00 am on Monday July 13th. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made in memory of June Arellano at: Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza,
