Maria Gomez passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at the age of 92.
She was born on November 27, 1933, in Michoacan, Mexico to her parents Senobio Ochoa and Luisa Valdovines. She was a resident of Watsonville and married to her husband of almost 70 years, Bonifacio Gomez.
Our mother was a deeply loving and selfless woman. She dedicated her entire life to her family—always making sure everyone was safe, cared for, and supported. She wasn’t focused on herself, but on raising, protecting, and nurturing her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her faith was strong, and her heart was even bigger. She lived her life with full devotion. That love is the very reason why our family has been so blessed to have had her in our lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Jesus, Jose and Santiago Ochoa, her husband Bonifacio, her sons Pedro Gomez and Aureliano Gomez, and grandson Emmanuel Gomez.
She is survived by her beloved children Antonio, Ma. del Refugio, Everardo, Bonifacio Jr., Socorro, Eloisa, Eva, Guadalupe, Aurelia, Elena and Fidel; her various grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 5-9 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
