Maria D. Grajeda Garcia, a longtime resident of Watsonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 28, 2026.

She was born on March 5, 1940 in Tangancícuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, and carried her beautiful traditions, faith, and strength with her throughout her life.

Maria was the devoted wife of Roberto Grajeda Sabedra and a proud and loving mother to her ten children. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was also blessed with many grandchildren who filled her heart with happiness and laughter.

Maria will be remembered as a woman of deep love, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She had a nurturing spirit and a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome in her home. Whether she was cooking a meal, sharing stories, or offering comforting words, Maria gave of herself wholeheartedly. Her home was a place of gathering, love, and tradition.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Luis and Esperanza.

Visitation services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5-9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Church at 10 AM with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
