In Loving Memory of
Michael Christopher Jennings
November 29, 1979 – February 2, 2026
Michael Christopher Jennings, known to many as Kefer, was born at Community Hospital in Santa Cruz, California. From the very beginning, Michael carried a curiosity for the world and a spirit that refused to be confined to one place, one path, or one way of being.
He graduated from Loma Prieta High School and continued his education going to Cosmetology School and Cabrillo College.
A lifelong learner, Michael was always exploring new ideas and skills. Most recently, he had been studying AI and data analytics—proof that his mind was always moving forward, always evolving.
Michael lived a life defined by creativity, and connection. He traveled throughout the country and across the world, leaving his mark in every city, state, and town he touched. Growing up in Santa Cruz, he later ventured to Hawaii before moving to Washington, where he attended Cosmetology School. He eventually returned to California, spending much of his adult life in the Bay Area, a place that felt like home for his art, music, and community.
Moving back to Santa Cruz to be with family later in life.
Known for his unmistakable style, charisma, and humor, Michael had a rare gift, he could make people laugh and feel at ease in any circumstance. Even in his final days, he was cracking jokes and bringing smiles to nurses and loved ones alike.
Michael loved creating music with friends, making beats, and expressing himself through his art. He was always eager to teach others his techniques while continuing to learn himself. He had a huge heart, a giving nature, and an ability to make people feel seen. He was admired by many and deeply impacted everyone lucky enough to spend time with him.
His style, charm, and presence were unforgettable and yes, the ladies loved him. Michael will be forever remembered and honored by his crew of friends and fellow artists, BHL, FTL, and graffiti crews around the world who continue to carry his legacy forward.
Michael is survived by his mother, Wendie Houle; his father, Ronald Jennings; his loving sisters, Ashley Jennings and Bliss Houle-Kingsland as well as half siblings
Megan Dykstra; and younger brother, Joey Dykstra. He is also deeply loved and remembered by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who became family along the way.
Michael’s life was art, laughter, and love. His mark is everywhere—and it will never fade.
“They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.”
