Miguel Chavez

Miguel Chavez passed away on September 6th in Watsonville. He was 69.

Mr. Chavez was born in Tangancicuaro Michoacan Mexico to his parents Maria de la Luz Ortiz and Joaquin Chavez Leiva. He was a generous man that enjoyed life. He moved to Watsonville in 1991. He was an avid soccer fan that enjoyed playing and watching the game as much as he could. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was a dedicated family man that always put them first.

He is survived by his wife, Josefina Lopez; his children Miguel Chavez Jr., Rosalba Cruz, Juanita Cermeno and Reyna I. Garcia; his siblings Jesus, Maria, Josefa, Joaquin, Luis and Rafael; and his grandchildren Miguel Chavez, Adilene Chavez, Suzett A. Cermeno, Angel V. Garcia and Isabela Garcia.

There is a visitation service at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville on Sunday, September 16th from 5:00-9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 17th at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Royal Oaks at 10:00 AM with the burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery in Watsonville.
