Richard Cota Gil peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his beloved family on Wednesday September 25, 2024. He was 92.

Richard was born on September 6,1932 to his parents Marcos and Tomasa Gil.

Richard enjoyed gardening and going to the casino he also enjoyed classic trucks and cars and watching boxing. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his wife of 73 years and his children were his greatest accomplishment. He was a native of Azusa, CA but a long-term resident of Watsonville, CA.

Richard is survived by his wife of 73 years Pilar, and his children Richard, Cindy (Val), Sylvia (Rod), Jesse (Veronica), John (Veronica), Linda (Andy). His siblings Catherine Melendez, Fernando Gil, and Rachel Melendez. His 38 Grandchildren, his 73 Great Grandchildren, and his 26 Great Great Grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his children Robert and Marcus, his brother Raymond Gil. And his Grandchildren Brandon Gil, Joseph Rodriguez, Val Rodriguez, Nikolas Martinez, and Brennan Gil. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday October 3,2024 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM a Holy Rosary will commence at 7:00PM. A closing ceremony will be held on Friday October 4,2024 at 11:00AM at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
