Rick Towner

December 27, 1959 — January 31, 2016

Rick Towner, a longtime resident of Morgan Hill, CA passed away peacefully in his home on January 31st, 2016.
Rick is survived by his two children; Richard Towner and Jessica Gupton (Towner); His parents William and Dorothea Towner; his siblings: Tina Swennes, Ray Towner, Deborah Towner Little and Joe Towner; his four grandchildren: Micah, Mason, McKenley and Drake and many nieces and nephews - all who loved him very much.
Rick was born on December 27th, 1959 in San Jose, CA. He graduated from Gunderson High School in 1978 and then married his high school sweetheart, Janene, in 1980. Rick and Janene gave birth to their son, Richard in 1984 and daughter, Jessica in 1986. Richard and Jessica remember their father as a fun loving and hard working man who would do anything to provide for his family and make them laugh. All who knew Rick remember him as one of the funniest guys they knew. He was always looking to make others laugh with his quick wit and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
Rick was an accomplished member of the Glaziers Union with over 30 years in the trade and was highly respected within the Bay Area construction industry. He was a passionate outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at Kennedy Meadows and fishing with close friends. Rick was involved with all his children's activities and spent many years as a Morgan Hill Pony Baseball coach. Rick loved his sports and you rarely ever saw him not wearing a 49er or Giants hat and in between watching games or golf, you could find him taking a drive in his beloved Corvette. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00PM on Saturday February 6th at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center with a reception to follow.
