On March 22 Rigoberto Madrigal passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz. He was 80 years old.
Rigoberto was born on July 18, 1937 in Mexico. He migrated from Coalcoman, MichoacA�n in 1967 to Watsonville, CA where he began his career as a farm foreman with Mellody Ranch and soon after his family joined him. He was very respected by many of those in his farm community. He retired after dedicating 30 years to Mellody Ranch. Don Rigoberto enjoined spending time with his grandchildren and walking the levee. He will be missed dearly by all family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ofelia Madrigal; children, Salvador, Ignacio, Sergio, Eddie, Beto and Elizabeth Madrigal; Grandchildren, Salvador and Bridgette Madrigal, Danny and Perla Mendoza, Erica and Danny Madrigal, Cristal, Samantha, Marcos, Cindy and Aaron Madrigal, Camille and Nathan Madrigal, Marissa and Melissa Madrigal, Sara Alexandra Madrigal and Julius Gonzales; and great grandchildren, Anissa, Andrew and Adelia Ofelia Madrigal, Jacob, Jaden Pinpin and Edith Gowen, Samantha Vasquez, Ethan Castro and Emily Clara Garcia, Julius Brian and Alexia Hernandez, Marlene Madrigal, Amora Ordaz, Julian Madrigal, Amaya Ayala and Leilani Figueroa. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Clara Carlota Mendoza and Edith Madrigal.
Rosary to be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel 609 Main Street, Watsonville, CA on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 7 PM. Mass will be at St. Patrick's Church 721 Main Street, Watsonville CA on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10 AM. The burial ceremony will be held at Valley Public Cemetery 2431 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville, CA, directly following Mass.
