Ruben Retana Jr.

Ruben Retana Jr passed this Friday June 27, 2025 in Watsonville, Ca at 50 years old.

He was an only child, born to parents Valerie Verdugo and Ruben Retana Sr. on November 8, 1974, in his hometown of Watsonville.

Ruben was a beloved son and father. He enjoyed watching movies, playing golf, going to the beach, making music and bike riding. He also loved to spend time with and barbecue with his family.

Ruben is survived by his mother Valerie, his children Ruben Anthony, Noe Tomas, and Mia Nicolette, and his grandson Easton Retana. He is preceded in death by his father Ruben Retana Sr and his grandparents Guerro and Tomasa Retana, Esther Sabala, and Frank Verdugo.

A viewing will be held for Ruben at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel on Friday July 18, 2025 from 9 AM to 11:30AM, followed by a Mass at St Patricks’ Church at Noon and a burial at Pioneer Cemetery.
