Socorro Medina

On January 7 ^th Socorro Medina passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Moss Landing. She was 85.

Socorro was born in Coalcoman, Michoacan on April 13, 1933. She was a kind-hearted lady that was devoted to her family. She enjoyed taking daily walks and reading religious books. Spending quality time with her family was a top priority in her life as she did so as much as possible. She was a resident of Watsonville.

She is survived by her son, Luis Gerardo Medina (Leonor Martinez); her daughters, Rosemary (Martin) Juarez, Socorro (Alejandro) Maduena, Delia Medina and Dolores (Manuel) Mercado; and Cornelia (Rodolfo) Murillo whom she loved as her own daughter. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A visitation service will be held at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel located at 609 Main St. in Watsonville on Tuesday, January 15 ^th from 5:00-9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated the following day Wednesday, January 16th at Holy Eucharist Catholic Church located at 527 Corralitos Rd. in Watsonville at 11:30 AM with the burial to follow directly after at Valley Public Cemetery located at 2445 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville.
