Veronica Saavedra

Veronica Anne Saavedra passed away on September 24 in Watsonville. She was 55.

Veronica was born on November 26, 1962 in Los Angeles to her proud parents Helen and Michael Saavedra. She was a generous family-oriented woman. She enjoyed family gatherings and barbeques as often as possible. She was a dedicated baker that loved to cook. She channeled her creativity through arts and crafts. She was an avid Nascar fan that watched whenever she had the chance. She loved music, especially Prince and Reggae. Veronica was a native of Watsonville.

She is survived by her children, Monique Benavidez, Priscilla Benavidez and Michael Thompson; Her siblings, Stella Meza, Priscilla Munoz, David Madrigal, Michael Saavedra, Lawrence Saavedra, Richard Saavedra and Vincent Ladino; and her grandchildren, Steven Joseph Vitela, Damon Ramirez, Jacob Vitela, Jasmun Vitela, AJ Vitela and Aiyanna Vitela.

A visitation service will be held on Sunday, October 7 ^th at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel located at 609 Main St. in Watsonville from 5:00 – 9:00 PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated on October 8th at St. Patrick’s Church located at 721 Main St. in Watsonville at 10:00 AM.
