William Serpa

d. March 5, 2013

William (Willie) Serpa Jr. of Watsonville, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 5 at the age of 86. Willie was born in Watsonville where he remained a resident all his life. He was most well known for his years in the local grocery industry at Heights Market and Lamberts Market. During retirement when not traveling the world with his wife and family, he could be found at a golf course with his fellow SIRS club members. After a stroke in his 70's, Willie spent many happy days attending gardening and ceramic classes at the Cabrillo College Stroke Center. One of his other favorite highlights for passing time at home was playing cards, dominoes, cribbage and other games with his granddaughter Nicolette.

Mr. Serpa is survived by his wife Betty; sons Rick and Ron (LuAnn); granddaughter Nicolette; sister Joann Wagner and her children.

The family is honoring his request for cremation with no service or memorial.

We also wish to thank the dedication of his physicians Dr. Jeffrey Mace and Dr. Marylou Romo, and his outstanding rehabilitation care at Skyline Care Center in Salinas.

Donations can be made in his name to: Cabrillo College Stroke Center/Foundation. 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Patrick and Debra Molina Carroll of Ave Maria Memorial Chapel, Watsonville
