Arnulfo Hernandez

March 4, 1949 — October 14, 2019

On October 14, 2019 Arnulfo Hernandez passed away surrounded by his family in Salinas at Natividad Hospital. He was 70. Arnulfo Hernandez, “Arnie” was a rare man, with a heart of gold and an even rarer soul. He was an automotive machinist at Pettigrew & Foletta Auto Parts in Castroville for over 60 years. Arnie enjoyed fixing and figuring out how things worked. He always had something on his mind and there were always tasks for him to complete. Arnie enjoyed collecting various knick knacks but above all else he was the type of man who’d give you the shirt off his back and lend a helping hand whenever possible. Arnie was liked and loved by everyone around him, his presence will be missed by those whose lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved wife, Silvia Ayala Hernandez and his children; Kelly Hernandez, Kelvin Hernandez and Ainsley Barriere. Arnie is also survived by his siblings; Cathy, Viola, Olivia, Vince Hernandez and his 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; Anacleto Hernandez and Maria Del Socorro Martinez and his siblings; Homer, Ace and Juanita Hernandez. Visitation services will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 5-9 PM with a rosary at 7PM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Our Lady of Refuge at 10 AM with burial to follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
