On December 23, 2020, Judith Kay Dowler peacefully passed away. She was 80 years old.
Judith, born on February 12, 1940 in Mound City Kansas, was a resident of Royal Oaks, California at the time of her passing and for many years preceding. Judith went to Salinas High School. She was a caretaker to many; she loved being a “GG” to all that she could. She was a huge Golden State Warriors fan and she loved her 1970 Buick, which gave Judith her nickname, “Hotrod Grandma.”
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Winton “Jon” Dowler. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Shannon and Violet Mae West; as well as by her siblings Joan West and Buddy West.
Judith is survived by her three kids Rhonda (Boyd) Shipley, Rita Worley, and Bryan (Jodie) Dowler. She is also survived by her 7 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids, each of whom she loved very much; by her best friend Sharon Ashadina, and every person her life has touched.
A visitation service for Judith’s family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 3rd from 5:00-9:00pm at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel in Watsonville. A graveside service will take place the following morning on Monday, January 4th at Pioneer Cemetery at 10:00AM.
